Apple Hill

Saturday we went to Apple Hill. It was so much fun. Since Jed had to go to school and work on his Sr Project, we went with Grandma. The drive was beautiful with all of the leaves on the trees changing colors. We stopped by Denver Dan's to see the animals. Elijah really likes animals and loves petting them. Chloe screamed when the alpaca got close to her, but she didn't have a problem with the sheep or goats. They had free face painting too. I tried to get Elijah to do it, but he was too shy, so I got Chloe's foot done to show him that it was okay. He still didn't want to do it, but her foot looked pretty. They had samples of their baked goodies and jams and butters. My favorite was a mango apple jalapeƱo jam.

Then we went to Bolster's Hilltop ranch for lunch and to buy cider. Their store is an old barn so Elijah went around singing "Old McDonald Had a Farm" but would ask where the animals were. Our last stop was to Apple Ridge Farms. They had pony rides, crafts, booths, pies, and caramel apples. Elijah really wanted to ride the horse, but I wasn't sure if he'd really do it. He really likes horses, but is a little afraid of them. I took him to look at a horse first to try to pet it to see how he'd do and he wouldn't get near it. But he insisted on riding it. But the little horse. They had a 'buckaroo' package where he gets to ride the horse and gets a hat, bandanna, and rubber band pistol. He did it! I was so proud of him. He loved it too. He looked really uncomfortable on it, but afterwards, that was all he would talk about.

and we ended our trip sharing a caramel apple
