Playing Catch UP

Sorry I've been MIA for so long! I've been sick almost everyday since Christmas and just haven't had the energy to do much. I wanted to post a few pictures though of the holidays.

Christmas was a lot of fun! Elijah woke us up at 5 so excited because Santa brought him a tank full of fish. It was the one thing he really wanted for Christmas so he was so happy that Santa brought him what he wanted. We calmed him down a bit and we all went back to bed until Chloe woke up at 9. Jed got the kids dressed and took them downstairs to see everything else Santa had brought them. I tried to get pictures of them but they were really fast. They both got lots of toys this Christmas so they've been really happy and stay busy playing.

I love Chloe's face when she sees her gifts from Santa

Elijah got a ton of toys but I love that he spent the entire day with his wooden truck and army men using his imagination to make things (this is his plane)

We had spent Christmas Eve with Jed's family but didn't finish everything so we went over to Jed's sister, Bonnie's, house after dinner. The kids put on a cute play of Christ's birth while Jed's dad read from Luke. Elijah didn't seem to enjoy dressing up as much as the others. He made one really cute shepherd though. It was a nice and fun way to end Christmas Day focusing on Christ's birth.

Jed had the entire week after Christmas off so we just got to hang out at home. It wasn't productive in any way but it was nice and relaxing.

For New Year's Eve, Jed's parents came over and brought us dinner. Elijah had a blast playing Candyland with Grandma. He even won all the games. We counted down the New Year at 10 (New York's midnight) with the kids and blew horns. The kids loved that part! They continued to play with the horns the entire week after until they finally fell apart. After we put the kids down Jed broke out the Kinect and both of his parents played a couple of games. I really wish I took pictures of that because I think that was a one time deal.

New Year's Day was a Sunday and our ward started at 9! It was kind of exciting though, because Elijah started in Sunbeams! He officially started Primary. I was his teacher for the first two Sundays, until they switched me to CTR 8. I had 10 sunbeams and was the only teacher. I dragged Jed with me to help me out and we seriously could have used 2 more adults. I now have new found respect and awe for sunbeam teachers! I've worked in daycare and used to nanny and even helped run classes for toddlers, but I have never experienced anything like that Sunbeam class. Luckily, they switched teachers around so they wouldn't have to call any more people and Elijah's new teachers are his old nursery leaders so all of the kids are used to them and OBEY them! The only problem now is that before Elijah was so excited to start Primary, but now he just wants me to be his teacher. Hopefully, next week he'll like it better.
