Five Years Down With An Eternity Left

Today is mine and Jed's five year anniversary! It's so crazy to think that five years has gone by so quickly. They really have been the best five years though. I'm so lucky to have married Jed. He's the best husband ever! I love him so much and it grows more and more each passing day. He's the most amazing person that I know. He is someone I always look up to and try to better myself for. He's a great inspiration and example for me. He's my best friend and the love of my life!

This week has been a little bit rough, partly because the kids are really missing Jed and beginning to show it more, and because our anniversary is today. I just really miss Jed. It's so weird not talking to him more than 5-10 minutes a day or seeing him every day and every night. Before he left we've only spent one night apart and that was only because he took Elijah on the father and son camping trip last year. So it's probably needless to say that these past few weeks have been difficult without one another. The time apart seems to pass by so slowly too even though we both are cramming are days full. But it's okay, because I'll get to be with him in only 74 days :)

Since Jed and I couldn't do anything for our anniversary together, I decided to take the kids out and do something fun. We went downtown to Temple Square and then went to Discovery Museum. The kids had so much fun at both places. Elijah's favorite (and maybe Chloe's...she loved "baby Jesus") was looking at all the pictures of Jesus inside the Visitor's Center. Elijah really wanted to go inside the temple because he wanted to see Jesus. He figures since the temple is the 'House of the Lord' that's where Jesus lives. He kept asking questions as he looked at all the pictures. I loved to see what he knows and the questions he has. At first, he kept asking why Jesus has holes in his hands and feet if he is still alive and he knew that "Jesus was in a rock" and when he came out he was alive. There were also a lot of weddings today. Elijah just kept asking why there were so many princesses... so cute! (That's another thing he's into right now is watching old Disney movies and so everyone is a prince and a princess) I couldn't spend the day with Jed but at least I got to spend it with the next best thing!

The view of the temple from where we parked. Elijah got so excited just to see the spires

They had more fun running through the flowers than posing for pictures for me

Elijah just wanted to stop at every fountain he saw

They saw other kids relaxing against the temple so they wanted to too

One of Elijah's favorite thing about temples is the Angel Moroni

Chloe running over the bridge where Jed proposed five years ago

Chloe trying to rip off her bow (stinker!) but look at how happy is she while doing it :)

After the temple we went to Discovery Museum. It's a really cute hands-on play "museum" for preschoolers and toddlers. The kids loved it there.

This was Elijah's favorite thing for the majority of the time. I had to really try to pry him away after an hour of him doing nothing else but playing in water.

The little cars were Chloe's favorite thing even though she has some at home

They had a stage and costumes. Some little girls were playing and Elijah joined their play dressed as a troll (?)

This was Elijah's favorite thing of the entire day! He loved the helicopter. Although, it was really loud because it sounded like it would when started up so he was a little hesitant at first.

Anyways, happy anniversary to the love of my life! (I should at least declare my love here) You've given me the best and happiest years and memories (and the cutest kids) ever!

And since we were sealed here
for all time and eternity, not being together for ONE anniversary out of an ETERNITY of anniversaries is nothing. Here's to the best five years with an eternity to go!
