My Painting Crafts

Awhile back, I was looking at the kids' rooms (well, Chloe only had a corner in our room) and it looked so bare. It's just furniture with no real decoration. I have a master plan of what I want to do with the kids' rooms once we move and they have their own rooms and I can paint, but right now it's looking pretty sad in their rooms. I also don't like paying an absorbent amount of money for something I think I can figure out and do. (Jed also really doesn't like paying for things he says are not important, so if you notice all the pictures around our house I've taken or gotten for free, with the one exception of our only painting)

I already had themes planned so decided I would try to make things for their rooms that can be applied later on once we move. Chloe's theme is cherry blossoms. As soon as I found out I was having a girl I've been obsessed with cherry blossoms and doing everything Japanese.

Jed's been trying to get me to paint or find a hobby, so when Michaels was having a huge sale on all of their art supplies, he decided to buy me everything I would need. (He's so sweet) His mom does oil painting and he loves all of her artwork, so he thought it would be fun for me to try it out. I decided it would be fun to try and I've had this image in my head of what I wanted it to look like. Well, it came out like this instead, but I think it's fitting for a baby's room.

My first painting.

I kept procrastinating finishing the painting because I got into making all of my cakes. I just finished this painting for Chloe when Jed moved her into Elijah's room a month ago.

I also painted these for Chloe and tied them with ribbon.

I kind of feel bad that all of my craftiness (or attempt) is for Chloe (I tried to make her headbands too), so while I was browsing Michaels (I should probably stay away from that store) I came upon these cute wooden train letter cars. I decided to get them to paint for Elijah's room.

(They were missing the I, so I'll have to check back in with them next week)

While at Michaels I bought these glass ornaments and some acrylic paints. I have been wanting to paint Elijah his own robot ornaments for his tree. (It was either going to be robots or a train that would wrap around the tree... robots are easier)

I felt like one of Santa's elves painting toys for Elijah and listening to Christmas music all night.
